What is a Teachers Beach Parking Permit?

The proposed Teachers Beach Parking Permit will be available to eligible teachers for $450 for 12 months. The permit will allow teachers at schools within Waverley to park their vehicles in Queen Elizabeth Drive and Park Drive North at Bondi Beach and in Bronte Cutting at Bronte Beach between the hours of 7.30am to 6pm Monday–Friday during school terms.

Why is this permit being introduced?

A resolution was passed by Council to propose a change to the Fees & Charges 2017/18 introducing a new category of Beach Parking Permit for teachers for a trial period of 12 months.

When is this permit being introduced?

Following a 28 day Public Exhibition period, a report will be submitted to Council with a recommendation based on many factors including community feedback. If Council approves the change to the Fees & Charges 2017/18 then the Teachers Beach Parking Permit will be available from that date.

Who can apply?

The proposed Teachers Beach Parking Permit will be available to eligible teachers at all schools within Waverley.

Will this make it more difficult to park at the beach?

The permit will allow Teachers to park their vehicles in Queen Elizabeth Drive and Park Drive North at Bondi Beach and in Bronte Cutting at Bronte Beach between the hours of 7.30am to 6pm Monday–Friday during school terms. It does not apply on weekends or during school holidays so is expected to have minimal impact on parking availability at the beach. A limit will be placed on the total number of parking permits issued to teachers in each school in consultation with the school.
