Waverley Council is currently working on a suite of projects that will transform Bondi Junction into the most sustainable, liveable and vibrant urban centre in Sydney.

We know Bondi Junction is already a great place to live, work and shop. We also know there are ways Bondi Junction can better serve our community, the eastern suburbs and greater Sydney. As part of our consultation on your community strategic plan, Waverley Together 3, you told us we need a vision to guide how Bondi Junction is transformed in the coming years. You also told us we need to think about what services and facilities the whole community will need in the future.

Get involved

We know Bondi Junction will play an increasingly important role in serving the needs of our community. We're reaching out to you to understand:

  • How you currently use Bondi Junction, and what it is you love and value most about it
  • What kind of future you envision for Bondi Junction, and how Council’s projects might help realise this vision
  • What more we could be doing to make Bondi Junction the most sustainable, liveable and vibrant urban centre in all of Sydney
  • What should guide our approach when planning the future of Bondi Junction
  • What services and facilities the whole community will need in the future, and the role of Bondi Junction in serving these needs
  • How Council can create better value for the community by looking at what services and facilities we provide, and where we provide them.

Our approach

Over the coming months, we will be:

  • Reviewing what people have already told us about Bondi Junction and Council’s community services and facilities in the past
  • Undertaking focus groups with Waverley residents to better understand what is most important about Bondi Junction and the services we provide to the community
  • Interviewing community service providers and meeting with businesses to understand their views
  • Carrying out a random telephone survey across Waverley and the Eastern Suburbs to find out what community services and facilities are needed, and what is missing from Bondi Junction
  • Hitting the streets at key locations to survey the views of residents and, importantly, visitors to find out what it is they love doing at Bondi Junction.

We are really excited about this important initiative. We're looking forward to better understanding how Bondi Junction can best serve the needs of our community and become the most sustainable, liveable and vibrant urban centre in all of Sydney.
