Background

We consulted the community on the location of the barbecues at Bronte Beach during the Bronte Park and Beach Plan of Management consultation. This identified issues with the current locations and tested ideas to replace the large barbecues with smaller units and relocate them around the picnic shelters. 72% of the community were supportive to relocate the barbecues.

What are the benefits of the four smaller units rather than two large barbecues?

• Disperses the large crowds around each barbecue
• Closer to more huts including the playground
• Allows easier access for multiple groups at one time

What is the difference between these barbecues and the old ones?

These allow for wheelchairs to swing underneath and be able to access the cooktop.
