Project complete

Bronte Lookout is the seating area with sandstone cubes, located on the corner of Macpherson Street and Gardyne Street. Initially upgraded in 2016, we have been undertaking maintenance work such as cleaning the sandstone feature and seating, ongoing planting and mulching native shrubs.

The proposed works

We are proposing to plant a Water Gum (Tristaniopsis Laurina) on Machperson Street behind the sandstone seat to provide shade. When planted the tree will be 1.5 metres and grow to a height of approximately 5 metres.

We are also investigating whether to add another seat in the location.

Response to the consultation

We received 46 survey responses and verbal feedback from the Precinct Committee. Feedback on Bronte lookout and its design was generally positive, the community said it is a great space to sit and enjoy the view.
