Consultation has concluded
Background
Waverley’s Draft Creative Lighting Strategy establishes an overall vision for Waverley’s public spaces. It identifies lighting ideas that will enhance the pedestrian experience after dark by creating a sense of place, encouraging activity and improving public safety (see more in the 'news feed' below).
Where are we now?
We have installed part-two of the lighting pilot off Notts Avenue, at the entrance to the Coastal Walk. The month-long, temporary lighting installation is a trial project to engage the community and test ideas from the Draft Strategy.
The location for the pilot was chosen because it is nearby an area that is already well-lit and the lights will not adversely impact on the environment.
The solar-powered lights will be subtle, low to the ground and will only be on in the early mornings and evenings. The intention is to create a safer environment and guide those using the path at these times.
Have Your Say
Please share your thoughts on the draft Creative Lighting Strategy and the pilot lighting on the Coastal Walk at Notts Ave by completing the survey below.
Submissions close 5pm Sunday 30 September 2018.

Let us know where you would like to see lighting work happen in the Waverley LGA on the 'Places' tab below.
Next steps
Your feedback from this round of consultation, and the feedback received from part one of the pilot project, 'The Heart of Bondi', will be considered when finalising Waverley’s Creative Lighting Strategy. The final Strategy is expected to be presented to Council for adoption in November 2018.
