Flickerfest 2026 and 2027 – Financial Assistance

The Flickerfest International Short Film Festival is a long-running, high-profile event conducted at the Bondi Pavilion. The event supports and gives a platform to Australian short filmmakers across multiple program streams and alongside international short films.

Flickerfest is proposed to return to the Bondi Pavilion for 10 days in January 2026 and January 2027

• Flickerfest 2026: 23 January 2026 – 1 February 2026
• Flickerfest 2027: 22 January 2027 – 31 January 2027

As Flickerfest is a registered private company entity (and not a not-for-profit organisation), Council is required to publicly exhibit its proposal to grant financial assistance for 28 days under section 356(2) of the Local Government Act 1993.

It is proposed to provide $155,435.60 of support to Flickerfest Pty Ltd for 2026, with the same amount (with applicable increases) proposed in 2027.
