Plan of Management endorsed

20 August 2019

We are pleased to report that in June this year the plan was formally adopted by Council.

The plan retains existing key infrastructure, such as the training field at Hugh Bamford Reserve and the nine-hole golf course on Williams Park under a different management model to formalise community use at times when golf is not in play. The implementation of the plan will also incorporate enhancements to support walking through Williams Park and the existing recreation uses in Hugh Bamford. Telling the stories of these places will be a focus as both Williams Park and Hugh Bamford have interesting histories and items of heritage significance.

You can view the final plan on Council’s website here.

We have started implementing the plan: a new accessible path connection to the community hall is being built, and signs and a water bubbler will soon be installed in Hugh Bamford Reserve. Council has applied for grant funding to provide walking facilities at golf-free times in Williams Park as well as weed control and new fencing along Military Road.
