About the Competition

We're kick starting the silly season with the return of Light Up Waverley, a festive lights competition for the community! Waverley is known for being vibrant and colourful, and we're excited to bring even more life to the area this summer.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to get into the festive spirit by decorating their outdoor space, whether it's your front yard, balcony, window, or store front.

Competition closed on Monday, 15 December 2025.

The winner for Waverley Council's 2025 Light Up Waverley competition, included:

  • Best house display: Rose Bay
  • Best unit/balcony display: Bronte
  • Best business display: Bondi Junction
  • Best sustainable display: Bronte
  • Best Christmas spirit display: Bondi
  • The Mayor's prize: Bronte
