About the Project
Waverley’s local parks and reserves are the heart of our community. They are vital pieces of our green open space network, providing essential places to play, relax, exercise, and connect with nature and each other.
To ensure these spaces continue to thrive and meet the community's needs, Council is developing a new Local Parks Plan of Management. This project will cover 56 local parks and reserves across the Waverley Local Government Area (LGA).
What is a Plan of Management?
A Plan of Management is a practical document that outlines how our parks and reserves will be used, improved, and managed now and into the future. It sets out the vision for the land, what activities and facilities are allowed, and how we will protect the natural environment.
Having an up-to-date Plan of Management isn't just best practice - it is a legal requirement to ensure public land is governed responsibly under the Local Government Act 1993 and the Crown Land Management Act 2016.
Round 1 Consultation
This is Round 1 of the Plan of Management community consultation, and before we draft the plan, we need to understand how you actually use these spaces.
We want to hear about your:
- Experiences: How do you currently use these parks and reserves?
- Needs: What is missing? What would make these spaces more accessible, safe, or enjoyable for you and your family?
- Aspirations: What is your vision for the future of these local green spaces?
Your everyday, lived experience is the most valuable tool we have to ensure this Plan of Management truly reflects the Waverley community.
Wonder if a park that you frequent is in the Local Parks Plan of Management? Find it on the map below and click on the icon to open the survey.
Special Note: Victoria Park Playground Upgrade
While this consultation focuses on the overall Plan of Management for our 56 local parks, we are also currently planning an exciting upgrade for the Victoria Park playground.
Because Victoria Park is one of the parks included in the Plan of Management, we are combining the consultations to keep things simple. When you click on the Victoria Park pin on the map, the survey will also include specific questions to get your thoughts on the playground's new concept design.
How to Share Your Feedback
Online Survey
We’ve set up an interactive map below to make it easy for you to comment on the specific parks you visit. Here is how it works:
- Find Your Park: The locations of all 56 local parks and reserves are marked with pins on the map below.
- Open the Survey: Click or tap on any park's pin. This will open a specific survey form dedicated to that exact location. You can fill out surveys for as many parks as you like!
📱 Important Note for Mobile Users > Screen space is a bit tight on phones, so the survey form will initially appear collapsed when you tap a map pin.
Simply look for the "Read More" link in the pop-up box and tap it. This will expand the view and reveal all the survey questions so you can leave your feedback.
Have Your Say Day - Victoria Park Playground Upgrade
We will meet you at Victoria Park on Saturday 2 May from 9am - 11am to discuss about the Victoria Park Playground Upgrade project.
