Waverley Council invites experienced and emerging writers, academics, literary critics, and publishing industry professionals to submit an Expression Of Interest (EOI) to join the Mark & Evette Moran Nib Literary Award Judging Panel for a two-year tenure covering the 2023 and 2024 Nib Award programs (May 2023 to November 2024).

The incoming judge will join the established judging panel to distinguish which of the year’s incoming nominations best meet the Nib Award's specific criteria.

The Mark & Evette Moran Nib Literary Award is Waverley Council’s annual celebration of the best in Australian research-based literature. Established in 2002 as The Nib Waverley Library Award for Literature, it remains the only one of its kind presented by a local government authority. The award is made possible through the generous support of Principal Sponsors Mark & Evette Moran.

In 2023, the Mark & Evette Moran Nib Literary Award offers a total of over $50,000 prize money, including a record $40,000 major prize.

For further details, including Judges’ honorarium, please see the document listed under the heading More information, on the right of this page.
