Council has been investigating ways to make local roads within Waverley safer. As part of this, we are looking at lowering speeds to 40 km/hr south of Bondi Road (we may look at roads north of Bondi Road in the future).

We are writing to you to seek your views on some options we have come up with for Park Parade to slow traffic and make it safer for pedestrians to cross. They are:

The speed cushions are intended to slow traffic, particularly the through traffic that currently uses your street to bypass other roads.

Other options are to leave things as they are or something else entirely.

  • handing it into Council’s Customer Service Centre, 55 Spring Street, Bondi Junction during opening hours (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm).
  1. Option 1: A centreline along the road (solid line at the crest of the hill). A parking lane line on the western side of the street. A yellow no stopping line on the western side of the street. #
  2. Option 2: Option 1 plus a speed cushion at 19 Park Parade. #
  3. Option 3: Option 1 plus speed cushions at 10 and 32 Park Parade. #
  4. Option 4: Do nothing, leave it as it is #
