Background

The parking meter fees currently listed for Queen Elizabeth Drive and Park Drive in the Pricing Policy, Fees and Charges 2018/19 contain some administrative errors. The fees exhibited to the public as part of the Draft Pricing Policy, Fees and Charges 2018/19 were listed as maximum amounts to be charged. These maximum amounts vary depending on the month of the year, with some metered parking areas providing free or cheaper parking during winter months. In May 2018, Council received legal advice that the full breakdown of fees should be provided in Council’s Fees and Charges Policy.

The Pricing Policy, Fees and Charges 2018–19 currently available on Council’s website does not include the summer rate after 7pm in Queen Elizabeth Drive, Park Drive North and Park Drive South and the winter rate in Park Drive South. Additionally, the meter fee for Park Drive South is listed as $7.60. The hourly fee for Park Drive South in the summer from 8 am to 7pm should be $7.80 in line with the other meter parking fees in the Bondi Beach perimeter.

Following the public exhibition period, a further report will be submitted to the August 2018 Council meeting and will include feedback regarding the proposed amendments to fees.
