Register to speak at a Council or Committee meeting

PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to speak at a meeting of the Waverley Local Planning Panel (WLPP) please do not use this form, but email the WLPP Coordinator on WLPP@waverley.nsw.gov.au

If you wish to speak at a meeting of:

  • Council;
  • the Operations and Community Services Committee; or
  • the Strategic Planning and Development Committee

please complete the Registration Form below before 3.00pm on the day of the meeting.

If you wish to speak at a meeting of:

  • the Waverley Traffic Committee

please complete the Registration Form below before 3.00pm on the Wednesday before the meeting.


All the above meetings are held on level 3 of the Waverley Council Chambers in Bondi Road, corner of Paul Street, Bondi Junction.

Meeting agendas are available online on the Friday afternoon prior to the meeting.


Things you need to know about speaking at a Council or Committee meeting

When speaking at a Council or Committee meeting you need to know that:

  • Your image and speech will be live streamed and a recording will be available on Council's website.
  • You may only speak on items that are listed on the meeting agenda.
  • Your speech must be no longer than three minutes. If there is more than one person speaking on the same item, the Chair of the meeting may require you to speak for less than three minutes.
  • You cannot ask the council, councillors or council staff any questions.
  • Audio or visual presentations are not permitted.
  • Your name will be included in the minutes of the meeting unless you request otherwise.

When speaking at a Waverley Traffic Committee meeting you need to know that:

  • Meetings are not open to the public. However, residents and members of the public may speak on items that are listed on the meeting agenda.
  • Your speech must be no longer than three minutes.
  • You cannot ask the committee any questions.
  • At the conclusion of your speech you must leave the meeting room.
  • Your name will be included in the minutes of the meeting unless you request otherwise.

Council and committee meetings are conducted in accordance with Council's Code of Meeting Practice.

Meetings of the Waverley Traffic Committee are conducted in accordance with the Waverley Traffic Committee Charter.


What happens after I submit the online registration form?

You will receive an email confirming that you have registered to speak at the meeting. Your registration details will be provided to the Chairperson shortly before the meeting starts.
