In 2019, Waverley Council completed the Seven Ways Public Domain Upgrade, which delivered significant improvements to the local streetscape and public amenity.
However, the project’s stormwater drainage design has not adequately managed surface flows during heavy rainfall events.
The public domain layout will be reconfigured to establish a new stormwater overland flow path to mange surface water away from nearby properties. Trees marked for removal will be replanted in close proximity to their existing locations so level of shade will be retained.
The community will be informed of works impacts, changes in access, traffic and transport controls in place and any temporary reduction of car spaces during works. Any out of hours works will be notified for with details of impactful activities and vehicle/pedestrian changes.
What will the works involve?
You can view a copy of the notification letter here.
Scope of works include:
- Installation of overland flow path to direct water away from nearby properties
- Regrading of footpath surfaces
- Removal of concrete benches
- Relocation of palm trees
- Coordination with utility providers as required.
Works commence Monday 20 April 2026 and are expected to take 3 months to complete, weather permitting.
During construction, some on-street parking will be occupied to allow access for construction vehicles and delivery of materials to site. Traffic control personnel and signage will be in place to guide pedestrians and vehicles safely around the work zone.
