Waverley Council is seeking EOIs from local sustainability experts to become part of Waverley’s Sustainability & Transport Expert Advisory Panel (STEAP) for one council term. The committee will provide input, ideas and solutions on environmental and transport issues related to climate change mitigation and adaptation, circular economy, active transport, water and urban ecology. The Panel’s input will help Council achieve the targets and vision of the Environmental Action Plan, People Movement and Places and the Waverley Community Strategic Plan in these key areas.

STEAP is a volunteer-based panel comprised of the mayor (or mayor’s nominee) and up to six local sustainability and transport experts. The Panel will meet around three times per year.

Council is seeking local community representatives with experience or qualifications in the fields of sustainability, transport planning, climate change mitigation and adaptation, coastal planning and/or urban ecology. Preference will be given to individuals who are currently working in an area of expertise outlined above.

More information can be found on STEAP’s Terms of Reference here.
