Project updates

Street Performance Trial: October 2022 - 21 February 2023

We are trialing new street performance zones throughout Bondi Junction, Bondi Beach, and Bondi Road as part of Council’s revised Street Performance Policy and Guidelines trial. In late 2022, the trial was extended until 21 February 2023 to allow more feedback to be collected over the peak summer period.

Some new elements of the Policy and Guidelines include:

  • Street Performance Licence applications are now processed online
  • There are new performance zones (used to only be in Bondi Junction)
  • To increase variety, we have changed it from seven to 30 licences
  • The length of time a performer can stay in one location has shortened (four to two hours)
  • Licences provided for 12 months instead of six.

The street performance zones have been mapped out by decal stickers on the ground during the trial period. We would like feedback on whether you think the performance zones suggested are suitable for street performances.

If you are a performer and would like to apply for a trial licence please visit Waverley's Street Performer Applications.
