In May 2022, Council sought expressions of interest (EOI) from local sustainability experts to become part of Waverley’s Sustainability Expert Advisory Panel (SEAP) for one council term.

Background

The committee provides input and solutions on contemporary environmental issues related to climate change, mitigation and adaptation, waste, water and urban ecology. The Panel’s input helps Council staff achieve the targets and vision of the Environmental Action Plan and Waverley Strategic Plan.

SEAP is a volunteer-based panel comprised of the mayor (or mayor’s nominee) and up to six local sustainability experts. The Panel meets three times per year.

The opportunity

Council sought local community representatives with experience or qualifications in the fields of sustainability, climate change mitigation and adaptation, coastal planning and urban ecology. Preference was given to individuals who are currently working in an area of expertise outlined above.

More information can be found on SEAP’s Terms of Reference.
