Waverley Council is calling for community
feedback in the development of a site specific public art work in Waverley
Mall, Bondi Junction. The objective is for an artwork that responds to the
existing sense of place in Waverley Mall. The site is a public plaza space
adjacent to Oxford Street and major entrances to Westfield. Waverley Mall
functions as a major thoroughfare for local pedestrians and cyclists between
the suburbs, Bondi Junction Terminal and Westfield. It is a quiet, leafy, paved
thoroughfare housing a number of cafes with outdoor seating areas.

Submission’s for artists to create a work
for the Waverley Mall site closed in April 2016. All the applications were
reviewed by the Waverley Public Art Committee with a shortlist of three artists
recommended to develop a detailed artwork design for the site.
Waverley Council are inviting community
feedback and responses to the three shortlisted concepts for the site. Attached
are portfolios put together by each of the three shortlisted artists. Please
provide your feedback through the online survey below.
