Updates 23 March 2022 - Consultation report and results of Council meeting.

This consultation has now re-opened. The fitness station was the only survey changed but we did use the information provided to build this round of consultation. Please read through the updated information and resubmit your feedback as there are different questions.

If you already contributed through a survey or another submission, we thank you for your input.

What is a Plan of Management?

To ensure future generations can enjoy Waverley’s open spaces, it is important we have a sustainable approach to the management of our Parks. Plans of Management (PoM) guide how community land is used, managed and improved.

Waverley Park Plan of Management and Masterplan

Over the last 10 years, several significant capital works have occurred within Waverley Park and with more upgrades planned over the next few years, it is time to review the PoM to guide the Park’s development.

The ideas highlighted in the map are based on previous community feedback and suggested park improvements from Place Space Strategy, the Open Space and Recreation Strategy and the Inclusive Play Space Study that could be included in the PoM.

Have your say

Before we create the PoM and Masterplan we need to hear from you on the design of the upgraded playspace and new fitness facility. We also need to hear your opinion on a new indoor cricket training facility as Council are keen to gauge community feedback on this proposal for further consideration.

How to have your say:

Online meetings with the project teams:

There are two community information sessions. Registration is essential.

  • Wednesday 3 November, 7pm-8pm - Waverley Park Plan of Management: This is for the project team to understand how the space is used, who is using it, how they get there and where it could improve. There will be a focus on the PoM in general and the playspace and fitness station.
  • Thursday 4 November, 7pm-8pm - Waverley Park PoM and Indoor cricket net training facility: The project team will give a short overview of the Plan of Management and the cricket nets, then it will be your turn to ask questions and provide feedback.
  • Tuesday 16 November, 1pm to 2pm – Plan of Management and ideas for improvement.

What happens next?

The information you provide will be used to develop a new Waverley Park Plan of Management and Masterplan. The Plan will define the major projects carried out in the Park over the next decade including a design for the play space and fitness facility.

The goal is to have the Plan of Management and Masterplan finished and the new fitness facility and play space built by the end of 2022.
