DA-208/2025 – Waverley Cemetery, 44 St Thomas Street Bronte

Waverley Council has submitted an application for Integrated development for the construction of new columbarium walls for memorial and associated landscape interface works at Waverley Cemetery.PAN-534946

The nominated integrated development requires approval (within the meaning of section 4.45) under a provision of the Heritage Act 1977 specified in section 4.46(1) under Division 4.8 Integrated Development, of Part 4 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 No 203.

The application is being notified for 28 days as required under the Schedule 1 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 No 203.

Submission closing date: 6pm, Wednesday, 2 July 2025.

The proposed development is required to be advertised under the Waverley Community Engagement Strategy 2023.

How to submit feedback

Submissions that are provided by email will receive an automatic reply that acknowledges receipt. Alternatively, submissions can be posted to Council’s postal address PO Box 9, BONDI JUNCTION NSW 1355.

Submissions about DAs must be made in writing and lodged within the specified time. If the submission is an objection, please detail the grounds of the objection.

Submission guidelines

Submissions must -

  • Be in writing
  • Indicate who is making the submission, or on whose behalf it is being made, the relevant address, contact phone number and email address
  • If it is an objection, it should identify the reasons for the objection and any impacts that the objector says will arise from the proposal. It does not need to be prepared by an expert and does not need to assess the DA against Council's development controls or relevant legislation
  • If there is a satisfactory solution to an impact, it should outline this
  • It should only relate to ‘planning matters’ that are capable of being considered under the relevant legislation. This does not include matters such as personal issues related to the land owner, past behaviours or disputes with a neighbour or property (de)valuation
  • It should be succinct, clear and easy to understand
