Themes from community consultation:

Exposure of the sandstone wall.

This feature should be included as the vast majority of people support the aesthetics of this enhancement and the light and ventilation benefits which result.

Consideration of a new option.

Explore the possibility of an Option Three approach with an Option Two style layout.

Community rooms.

Give further consideration to the relative allocation of space to community rooms vs public amenities.

Female amenities.

Recognise the differential pressures on female vs male amenities in the space allocations. Suggestions include:

  • relocation of maintenance space away from female footprint
  • an additional shower for female amenities
  • a sliding door access into community room space.

Separation of changing space from toilet queue corridor.

Provide sufficient bench, mirrors and hanging space in the female amenities, recognising people swimming before work and changing into their work clothes.

Accessible/family facilities.

There is a strong preference for these to be located adjacent to the main male/female amenities and not in a separate location.

Showers.

Strong support for maintenance of warm showers (with user ability to adjust temperature) and investigation of solar power options.

Explore ways to provide additional showers.

Seating

Provide sufficient amount of seating and appropriate provision of shading.

Roof Terrace

Support for shading and enhancement with planting while preserving utility.

Other desirable features

  • Foot showers.
  • Water bubblers.
  • Provision for dogs/water bowl/designated area.
  • Clock.
