Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the proposed safety upgrades on Tamarama Marine Drive. All feedback has been reviewed and the concept design for this upgrade has been finalised.

What you said

48 community members provided feedback during the consultation period, of which 73% support the proposed upgrades. The community generally agrees that a raised pedestrian crossing is needed to slow down traffic along Tamarama Marine Drive and that the lighting upgrade will increase safety for pedestrians using the coastal walk at night.

The consultation report provides a detailed summary of all feedback received.

In response to community feedback, we've updated the map outlining the safety improvements. It shows:

• Further widening of the footpath
• Linemarking in the lead up to the raised pedestrian crossing
• Signage to ensure vehicles and pedestrians are aware of the pedestrian crossing

Next steps

A contract for construction will be awarded in the coming weeks and construction is expected to commence in July 2022.
