Consultation has concluded
In June 2018 Council adopted the new Waverley Community Strategic Plan. This Plan sets out ambitious targets to increase Waverley’s shrub and canopy layer by 25%, to update the 2013 Tree Management Policy and prepare an Urban Tree Canopy Strategy. The Strategy will establish the future direction for Waverley’s Urban Tree Canopy, outlining the guiding vision and targets to increase the canopy layer and achieve our Community Strategic Plan aspirations.
This survey will inform the Policy Review and the preliminary development of the Urban Tree Canopy Strategy. The updated Policy and Strategy will also assist in meeting ‘Objective 30’ of the Greater Sydney Commission objective to increase urban canopy cover in Sydney.
