Waverley Council is updating the Bondi Beach, Park and Pavilion Plan of Management. The plan is a strategic document that describes a vision for the future management of the park, beach and pavilion over the next 10 years.
Following on from the first stage of community feedback, a design team worked through designs for the future of Bondi. A two-day workshop was held with Council staff along with highly regarded experts in landscape architecture, urban design and architecture. The design team reviewed technical studies, testing alternative solutions and recommending design approaches. This short video shows some of the highlights of the design process and workshop.
The outcomes of the two-day workshop have been tested with the community in the last stage of community feedback, where we asked you to tell us what you thought of draft concepts. Feedback was collated and fed into a draft Plan of Management document.
Final exhibition period
We have reached the next stage for the Bondi Beach, Park and Pavilion Plan of Management, where we ask you to comment on the draft Plan and in particular the Action Plan outlining the delivery of works.
The draft Plan includes ideas such as replacing the car park on Queen Elizabeth Drive with an underground car park to provide more green and recreation space, more trees and shade, a boardwalk connection on the coastal walk, and opening up the back of the historic pavilion.
We would like you to comment on the draft Plan and the Action Plan by submitting your feedback here.
You are also invited to a Meet the Mayor Morning Tea this Sunday 17 August at the Seagull Room, upstairs at the Bondi Pavilion between 11am and 1pm. Council staff will also be available to take any questions and your comments on the plan.
