Consultation has concluded

Following each council election, it’s our responsibility to review our Community Strategic Plan (CSP). This year we are preparing a new Waverley Community Strategic Plan which will be adopted by Council in June 2022. This plan will outline the community’s vision – your vision for us – and what our priorities over the next 10 years will be.

The Community Strategic Plan addresses four questions for the community:

  • Where are we now?
  • Where do we want to be in 10 years’ time?
  • How will we get there?
  • How will we know we’ve arrived?

Between July and February 2022, we heard from 975 Waverley residents aged 4 to 70+ years old. The community vision and priorities have guided Council in developing strategies and actions for the draft CSP under three themes: People, Place, and Performance. For more information please see the full Waverley Community Strategic Plan Community Engagement Outcomes Report.

Associated plans and reports

On top of the CSP we used community feedback to prepare the following plans and reports:

How to have your say.

The CSP and related plans and reports are on public exhibition from 20 April to 18 May 2022. Community feedback received during the exhibition will be considered before the final versions of the documents are adopted on 21 June 2022.

The Delivery Program is a four-year program adopted by each newly elected Council in the first 12 months. The Delivery Program 2022-2026 is the fourth Delivery Program that Council has developed. The strategies identified in the CSP are carried through to the Delivery Program and expanded into actions. In our Delivery Program, these have been called four-year actions so we deliver on the strategies outlined in the Community Strategic Plan.

Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) 6 summarises the actions required to continue our progress towards sustainability in asset management and develops a framework to facilitate sound asset management practices. Costs to meet these targets as set out in SAMP 6 have been translated directly into Council’s Long Term Financial Plan 6 (LTFP 6).

In developing SAMP 6 Council used varying approaches to engage with the community including a topline survey, an online asset prioritisation survey and the collaborative engagement panel of 22 community members. In particular, the engagement panel provided detailed feedback on all asset classes and their respective service levels which underpin the set service levels in SAMP 6. All the feedback can be seen in the Community Outcomes Summary Report

Please provide feedback on the draft Strategic Asset Management Plan.

This is the fifth version of the Environmental Action Plan (EAP). It outlines environmental targets for Council and the Waverley community in the areas of urban ecology, water, waste, energy and climate change and the actions and strategies to achieve our targets.

The Plan and its actions are integrated into other key Council Strategies including the Draft Community Strategic Plan, Waverley 2032 and the draft Delivery and Operations Plans. The Community Strategic Plan (CSP) includes the two pillars of sustainability and resilience which supports the targets and strategies of the EAP. The EAP has also been prepared in coordination with the Draft Waverley Strategic Asset Management Plan 6 to ensure that Council’s assets are sustainable and resilient.
