Planning in Waverley - Shape your villages by the sea

Aerial of Waverley

Council has embarked on an important strategic planning project that will shape the future of Waverley. The review is being staged over three years, between July 2018 - July 2021 with a number of opportunities for community to have input along the way.

The project involves the development of a new strategic plan - the Waverley Local Strategic Planning Statement (WLSPS), a Community Participation Plan, and the comprehensive review of the Waverley Local Environmental Plan 2012 (WLEP) and Waverley Development Control Plan 2012 (WDCP).

As part of this project, Council is required to ‘give effect to’ the Greater Sydney Region Plan (the Region Plan) and the Eastern City District Plan (the District Plan) that have been prepared by the Greater Sydney Commission.

In addition to the WLSPS, a number of other strategies are being prepared by Council to inform the review, including:

The draft strategies above are on public exhibition from 25 March - 10 May 2020. Click the links above to have your say.

Once the strategies have been finalised, they will inform the review of the WLEP and WDCP, and guide the preparation of a new LEP and DCP for Council. These documents will be consulted on prior to their finalisation.
