Planning in Waverley - Shape your villages by the sea

Aerial of Waverley

Council is embarking on an important strategic planning project that will shape the future of Waverley. The review is being staged over three years, between July 2018 - July 2020, with a number of opportunities for community to have input along the way.

The project involves the development of a new Environmental Planning Instrument - the Waverley Local Strategic Planning Statement (WLSPS), as well as the comprehensive review of the Waverley Local Environmental Plan 2012 (WLEP) and Waverley Development Control Plan 2012 (WDCP).

As part of this project, Council is required to ‘give effect to’ the Greater Sydney Region Plan (the Region Plan) and the Eastern City District Plan (the District Plan) that have been prepared by the Greater Sydney Commission.

In addition to the WLSPS, a number of other strategies are being prepared by Council to inform the review, including:

Have your say on the Draft Waverley Community Participation Plan

The draft Waverley Community Participation Plan (CPP) is now on public exhibition. The draft CPP seeks to make community participation in local planning matters clearer for the Waverley community. It does this by outlining in one place how and when the community can participate in various statutory planning processes and decisions. To have your say on the draft CPP, visit the project page here.
